About Students

Projects for our Advocacy & Political Action (APA) course should be about creating meaningful change in the civic engagement, political, and advocacy arenas. Our APA students are learning the strategies and tactics necessary to successfully mobilize These projects can span a huge range of policy areas, including immigration, criminal justice, food security, the environment, education, public health, labor rights, reproductive rights and many others.

Format Title Capstone
Format Description
Capstone brings together teams of graduate students to address complex challenges and identify new opportunities for nonprofit, governmental, health-related, urban planning, and international agencies. Project teams approach their assignments with initiative and professionalism. They organize and frame their projects into a thorough work plan that results in a carefully considered final product. Every team produces a written report and conducts a final presentation of their findings and recommendations.

Other Requirements
We are excited to partner with organizations and project mentors that have interesting and unique challenges. We expect mentors to meet with students a few times each month to check in, answer questions, and align on the next steps. We are excited for you to share your culture with our students!
