Our Finance students are learning theory and skill-based tools and frameworks to prepare them for practice in public service organizations through both a management and policy lens.

What is the challenge or opportunity you are trying to address within your organization? Assess the company’s financial status and viability to recommend practices for improving financial management.
Primary Topic: Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis
What are some of the activities or action items you think will need to be taken to achieve your desired results? A comprehensive deep-dive into existing structures and processes will be required to conduct a thorough analysis. This would need to include: • Interviews with staff • reviews of existing forms and process flows, • analysis of similar sized organizations, • study of IRS requirements, • and more. Building on the analysis, preparation of recommended structure and processes within budget guidelines (to include cost details) will be needed.
What would make this project a success for your organization? What measurable results are you looking to accomplish? Success will be a clear, detailed structure and process map with written findings and recommendations for an optimal, redesigned financial management system. Provided budget parameters and other criteria are met, we would like to have implemented the majority of the team’s recommendations within six months of completion.
