Children's Institute

Details
Project Title Children's Institute Project Impact
Project Topics Growth Strategy Sales & Business Development
Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Since Children’s Institute launched in 2003, the majority of our revenue comes from foundation grants (85-95%). While this demonstrates strong support from local and national foundations, we don’t see much new growth in this area. In an effort to diversify our revenue mix and increase our reach and impact, we are exploring earned revenue and social enterprise opportunities. Our team has identified several lines of work that we believe can grow to be revenue-generating for our organization. Our project is to develop an impact plan for the launch and scaling of an earned revenue stream that will have a positive impact on Oregon’s early childhood landscape.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
We hope that the project team can help us identify the most viable earned revenue opportunity, conduct market research, help articulate our value proposition and competitive advantage, explore pricing models, and develop an impact business model canvas/business plan.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
This project would be a success if we came out of it with a plan for launching our new earned revenue model. We would like the project to help us create a plan that, within the first several years, can be net positive and lead to growth in both revenue and impact. We also hope that our CI will acquire new financial planning and analysis skills from our project team.
