The St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services is dedicated to providing for all residents and visitors within St. Lawrence County. It comprises four bureaus: Communications, Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management. The Bureau of Communications operates the 911 Public Safety Answering Point and County Communications Center, plans for and builds communication infrastructure, and provides communication-related assistance to local public-safety agencies. The Bureau of Fire provides training opportunities to local responders, supports local fire departments, and responds to major incidents involving multiple fire departments within the county. The Bureau of EMS provides leadership, support, education, and cooperation necessary to enable both transporting and first response agencies to provide the best pre-hospital emergency medical care possible. The Bureau of Emergency Management maintains a high level of preparedness to protect citizens, mitigates loss of life and vital assets prior to, during, and immediately after a disaster, and facilitates speedy recovery in the mid and long term intervals following a disaster.
