About Students
Students in the International Development Capstone Program at NYU Wagner are advanced graduate students enrolled in the Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management & Policy program, often with a specialization in international development, governance, and finance.

These students bring diverse regional and professional backgrounds—from global NGOs and multilateral institutions to social enterprises and international foundations. They are deeply committed to sustainable development, institutional reform, climate resilience, and social justice. Their coursework and experience equip them with the tools to lead projects focused on governance, policy analysis, service delivery, and development finance across global contexts.

They are collaborative, equity-minded problem-solvers, eager to apply their skills in research, stakeholder engagement, and systems thinking to real-world development challenges.
About Program Goals
Student teams will work with mission-driven organizations to:

  1. Apply development and policy frameworks to international governance, financing, and service delivery challenges.

  2. Conduct mixed-methods research, including stakeholder interviews, field visits (where feasible), desk reviews, and comparative case analysis.

  3. Evaluate programs, policies, or institutional structures and offer recommendations grounded in local context and global best practices.

  4. Develop practical tools, frameworks, and strategic plans to support implementation, scale, or reform.

  5. Enhance cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills, while navigating the complexities of multi-stakeholder environments.

  6. Deliver professional-grade presentations and reports designed to support your organization’s goals and drive real-world impact.
